Romantic holiday homes for two
A stay for two asks for something other than a full holiday house: no extra bedrooms, but a place where you hear nobody. A fireplace, a bath, a sauna or a hot tub make more difference there than square metres.

The places below take six people at most and have at least one of those four. That keeps the list short enough to read through properly.
What to look for
- Look at how far the nearest neighbours are. That often counts for more than the furnishing.
- A fireplace is not always usable. Ask whether there is wood and whether it may be lit in your period.
- Ask about the arrival time. Arriving late is pleasanter than standing somewhere at four o'clock waiting for a key.
- Book outside the school holidays if it needs to be quiet. The same house feels different then.
Frequently asked questions
Why only smaller places here?
Because this is about a stay for two. The list is limited to places for six people at most with a fireplace, a bath, a sauna or a hot tub.
Is the hot tub always private here?
Not always. Each listing says whether the facility is private or shared with other guests. If you want it to yourselves, look for that word.
Is there somewhere to eat nearby?
The owner knows the area best and often puts his suggestions in the description. If there is nothing there, do ask. It makes a good first contact.
Can I have something prepared?
That is up to the owner, but asking costs nothing. Because you deal with the owner directly, that sort of thing is often easier to arrange than through an intermediary.
