About this home

't Laarhuys is where comfort and countryside meet. Whether you are after a romantic weekend, a walking or cycling break, a few days with your own horse, a family holiday or simply some quiet, everything is here to make the stay one you remember. The name 't Laar means open field, and that is exactly what stretches out behind the house. At the front runs a good road that gets you anywhere quickly. At the back you step straight onto the walking and cycling routes, well away from the bustle. That mix of easy access and quiet is what makes 't Laarhuys special. The house Our newly built house sleeps ten, with five welcoming bedrooms, good bed linen and three bathrooms with rain showers. You cook together in the open, fully equipped kitchen looking out over the fields. Afterwards you settle in the living room or play a round of air hockey in the games room. There are board games and outdoor toys too, and for the youngest a high chair and a cot. Beds are made up on arrival and a towel set is ready for each guest, with a large towel, a small one and a face cloth. In the kitchen you will find a starter pack with kitchen roll, dishcloths, tea towels, dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid. Outside The large garden with its terrace is where you unwind after a day out, with garden furniture and a barbecue. Cyclists have a locked bike store with a hose fitted, so the bike goes in clean. If you arrive with your own horse, stabling can be arranged. The Flemish Ardennes Oudenaarde is the heart of Flanders cycling country. The climbs of the Tour of Flanders are on the doorstep, and anyone who prefers an easier ride will find loops through rolling fields and pretty villages. Walkers and riders are just as well served. To see the area differently, hire a Vespa or an old Citroen 2CV. There is plenty to do without sport as well. There is a golf club nearby, an escape room for those after a challenge, and the region is full of breweries, plus a vineyard and a distillery that run tours. Brochures with local tips are waiting in the house. Book directly with us and you can stay until four in the afternoon on your departure day instead of ten in the morning. Half a day extra, simply because you came without a middleman.
