About this home

Comfortable holiday home, located in the centre of Herbeumont, within walking distance of the Semois, the forests, the castle ruins, and also the various restaurants and bars. Herbeumont is the ideal base for exploring the Semois and Gaume region. The house is comfortable, cosy and well equipped. The sun-facing terrace is a lovely place to spend time, with the adjoining garden featuring a petanque court, swing and covered lounge. The whole house is yours. It spreads over three floors, has three bedrooms and sleeps eight. The first floor holds two rooms, each with a double bed. The second floor has a large room with a double bed and two single beds. Every bed comes with a good mattress, pillows and a duvet. You bring your own bed and bath linen, or you rent it on the spot. There are three bathrooms, so nobody has to wait their turn. The ground floor has a shower with toilet and washbasin, the first floor a second shower with toilet and double washbasin, and the second floor a toilet with washbasin next to the bedroom. The open kitchen has a cooker, a separate oven, a microwave, a dishwasher, a fridge and all the kitchen equipment you need, down to the wine glasses. The utility room holds an extra fridge and a freezer, handy when you cook for a full table. There is a washing machine as well. In the living room the log fire takes the chill off cooler evenings. There is a digital television with dvd player and Chromecast, and a well-stocked bookcase. The separate playroom with table football, board games and comics keeps the children busy when it rains. For the youngest there are a cot, a baby bath, high chairs and stair gates. Behind the house lies an enclosed garden with a swing and a petanque court. The terrace has garden furniture, sun loungers, a parasol and a barbecue, and the covered lounge stays usable when a shower passes. You park in front of the door and leave the car there. The bakery, the supermarket and the pharmacy are in the village, as is the Grand Place with La Fille du Boulanger, l'Auberge des Scailtons and Aux petits bouchons. The Semois, the woods and the castle ruins are within walking distance. Around Herbeumont run 95 km of waymarked walks, from short loops with the children to full day hikes, plus mountain bike trails. You can kayak and fish on the Semois, and there is horse riding nearby. By car you quickly reach Bouillon with its medieval castle, Florenville, Bertrix or Neufchâteau, or the abbey of Orval. The Gaume with villages such as Torgny is close by, and across the French border you will find Sedan, the basilica of Avioth and the citadel of Montmédy. The wifi is free, you park in front of the door and there is a bicycle garage. Pets are welcome.
