What to look for
- Ask which facilities are part of your stay and which you pay on site. A pool is often included, a bike or a sun lounger rarely.
- Look at the period. Outside the season many facilities on a park are closed.
- Ask where the house sits within the park. Next to the playground is handy with children and less so without.
- Some parks collect a tourist tax or a park fee at reception. Ask about it, then you know what is left to settle on arrival.

Do I pay the park separately?
Sometimes. The rent goes to the owner of the house; a park fee or tourist tax is collected by the park itself. If the owner charges it in advance, you see it under the costs.
Are the facilities open all year?
Rarely all of them. Outside high season many parks close the outdoor pool, the restaurant or the activity programme. Ask for the period you are coming.
Is a holiday park quiet?
That depends on the park and the season. During school holidays it is busy, outside them often very quiet. The owner knows his park and can tell you.
May I have visitors?
Many parks ask that day visitors report to reception, sometimes for a fee. Check the house rules or ask beforehand.
