Holiday homes for cyclists
On a cycling holiday, a bike that is stored safely is half the pleasure. You do not leave an expensive bike outside, and a family with four bikes needs more than a corner of the hallway.

Below are homes where bikes are available and homes with bike storage. How many bikes there are and who they are for is on the listing, or you can ask the owner.
What to look for
- Ask whether the storage can be locked and how many bikes fit. An open shed is not the same as a locked room.
- If you ride an e-bike, ask whether you can charge it in the storage and whether you need your own charger.
- If bikes are lent or hired out, ask how many, in which sizes, and whether a child seat or helmet comes with them.
- Ask about cycling routes nearby. An owner knows which roads are quiet and which to avoid with children.
Frequently asked questions
Are the bikes free to use?
That varies. At some homes the bikes come with the stay, at others you pay a contribution. If nothing is listed among the costs of the home, ask in your request.
Does bike storage mean it can be locked?
Not always. It can be a locked room, but also a covered spot or a corner of the shed. Ask whether you can add your own lock and how much space there is.
Can I charge an e-bike?
Often yes, but it is not always stated. Ask the owner whether there is a socket by the storage, and bring your own charger.
Do I need to bring a helmet and lock?
Expect to bring both yourself unless the owner says otherwise. If bikes are lent, ask whether helmets or locks are included.
