Whether a home is free on those days only shows once you pick dates. Each listing says how many people can sleep there, how the kitchen is equipped and what the owner arranges.
What to look for
- Count beds and sleeping places, not just people. With several generations, who sleeps where matters.
- Ask whether the kitchen has a large oven and enough pans and tableware for a festive meal for the whole group.
- Ask about arrival and departure around the holidays, and whether a late arrival on Christmas Eve is possible.
- Check that everyone fits around one table. At a festive meal nobody likes sitting apart.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference from the Christmas holidays?
The Christmas holidays cover the whole period around Christmas and New Year. This page is about the days of Christmas itself. Both show homes with a fireplace or stove, so choose by how long you stay.
Is the home free on Christmas Eve?
You only see that once you pick dates. This page shows homes that suit Christmas, not homes that are free. Your request goes to the owner, who tells you whether it works.
Can I cook the Christmas meal myself?
In most homes yes, if there is a kitchen. Check the photos and features for the oven, hob and dishwasher, and ask how much tableware there is for your group.
Can extra relatives come over?
Agree this with the owner beforehand. The maximum number of guests applies to those who stay overnight. Visitors during the day are sometimes fine, but not everywhere. Mention it in your request.
