Welcome to La Hardie, a hospitable guest house in quiet surroundings a few minutes from Arlon and Luxembourg. Marie-Christine receives you in a warm setting where comfort, calm and authenticity come together. Our rooms are furnished with care and form the starting point for a holiday, a trip into nature or a stay for work. You are well placed to explore the region, its landscapes, its villages and its culture. At La Hardie the welcome is personal, the breakfast is carefully prepared, and the stay is designed so that everyone truly feels at home. The Coté Jardin room sleeps two. It sits on the quiet side of the house and looks out over the garden, with a private terrace for your morning coffee. You have your own bathroom with a walk-in shower and your own toilet. Bed linen, towels, toiletries, a hairdryer and a towel warmer are provided. The room has a wardrobe with hangers, a fridge, a coffee machine, a kettle and glasses, plus a socket beside the bed. If you want to wind down, add the private wellness room: a sauna combining infrared and a wood stove, built into the bathroom, at 25 euros per session. You have it entirely to yourself. Marie-Christine's breakfast can be added to your stay as well. Around the house lies an enclosed garden with garden furniture and a terrace. A cot is available. You park on the grounds, the wifi is free and you can check in by yourself. Nobody smokes indoors, and your dog is welcome. Marie-Christine is a tour guide, and her tips show it. She will take you into the region or tell you what is worth seeing nearby, from a walk to a visit. She speaks French, Dutch, German and English. Hondelange belongs to the municipality of Messancy in the province of Luxembourg. You are 4 km from the Luxembourg border and 22 km from Luxembourg City, with its fortifications on the Unesco World Heritage list and the Kirchberg quarter. Arlon is about ten minutes away: the town is held to be the oldest in the country and has an archaeological museum devoted to its Gallo-Roman past. The E411 runs past the village, so you reach your destination quickly. The village goes back further than you would guess. The area has been settled since Roman times, the church is mentioned around 1130 and the present building dates from 1891. Calvary crosses stand in the streets, the oldest from 1717. Hondelange is Hondeleng in Luxembourgish, because this is the Land of Arlon where that language belongs. Walks and bike rides start at the door, and by car you are soon in the Gaume or in the Grand Duchy. If work calls you to Luxembourg, you will sleep more peacefully here than in a city hotel.
