Mirabel is right in the middle of Hasselt, the heart of Limburg, a stone's throw from the centre but still quiet enough to unwind. From here you're a quarter of an hour into the bustling city centre, where there's real life going on. The house itself looks out onto a pleasant neighbourhood street where you see the daily life of Hasselt residents passing by. In the evenings you only hear the murmur of people walking to the centre, and during the day you get that nice mix of a city that's not too big. The region around Hasselt is gold for anyone who likes being outdoors. You've got beautiful walking routes through the Limburg hills, particularly towards Genk and Zonhoven where you walk past nature and picturesque villages. A visit to the Japanese Garden is a classic, especially in spring when everything's in bloom. For those who are a bit more adventurous, you can easily cycle to the villages of Zelem or Kermt, where you get a real countryside atmosphere and find lovely terraces. And of course, Hasselt itself is known for its jenever and its annual Jenever Festival, so spending a few hours nosing around and tasting in the city centre is definitely worthwhile. This house is perfect for a family that wants to get away from the noise for a bit but still doesn't want to be in the middle of nowhere. With four sleeping places you're also well sorted with friends or family who want to spend a weekend exploring Limburg together. It's a base where you have all the advantages of a city but spacious enough to feel at home.
