Koetshuis Domein Roosendael

The Roosendael estate is a youth accommodation centre in Sint-Katelijne-Waver, 5 km north of Mechelen. The site is 800 years old: first an abbey, later a castle estate, today 17 hectares of nature area and protected landscape. You stay in the Koetshuis (the former coach house), a restored listed monument from the 18th century. It lies inside the moat, next to the nature reserve. The landscape park has trees around 160 years old, including two impressive plane trees. The estate also has a castle ruin and Café Roosendael. There are 44 beds across eight bedrooms and two dormitories. The bedrooms have bunk beds for two or three people, and each has its own shower and toilet. Two bedrooms have an adapted shower and toilet, and there is a lift, so the Koetshuis also suits groups with wheelchair users. Each dormitory has seven beds with a shower, toilet and washbasins. The group has two day rooms and a garden room overlooking the nature reserve, for eating together, crafts or a film in the evening, and a fully equipped kitchen for self-catering. Outside there is a large lawn and a park for walks, running around and woodland games. In good weather you simply eat outside. The Koetshuis suits youth groups, schools, families and clubs. Pets are not allowed.
