Holiday home Huis 14 is a terraced house in the shadow of the Sint-Janberchmans church and the old convent school De Parel, in what was voted the Most Beautiful Street of Mechelen. That nostalgic setting gives the house its charm right away. The property holds a permit from Toerisme Vlaanderen and was awarded four stars. On the ground floor you enter the dining area, with the seating corner in salon Frida right next to it to relax at length. The kitchen is fitted with an induction hob, an oven, a microwave, a fridge and a freezer. The bathroom has a separate WC, a walk-in shower and a washbasin with two sinks. At the back you enjoy the afternoon sun in the sunny town garden, with a table, chairs and a gas barbecue. The utility room holds a washer-dryer and an ironing board with iron. On the first floor there is a quiet bedroom with a double bed (180 x 210 cm) and air conditioning. The adjoining walk-through room has room for an infrared cabin. The attic, the Loft Fly Pan Am, is an open, air-conditioned space with a double bed (180 x 210 cm) and two single beds. This lets four people sleep in the loft; if you prefer to sleep with two, two children can use the sofa bed in the walk-through room. Please note: the house has two fairly steep staircases, each with a handrail. An open staircase leads to the first floor, a steep attic staircase to the loft. Keep this in mind with young children or for a night-time trip to the toilet, as the WC is on the ground floor. The centre of Mechelen is a ten-minute walk away, with its shops, restaurants, cafés and rich history. Vrijbroek Park and the Leuven Canal invite you for a walk or a bike ride. Free parking is available on the Brusselsesteenweg or at the Huyghebaert site. Pets are not allowed, out of respect for guests with allergies.
