Gîte rural "Le Frêne"

This former farmhouse from 1839 is in the village of Carlsbourg, in the Bouillon area, and sleeps a maximum of 4 people (adults and children together). We will welcome you with a good roaring fire and a small welcome gift. Around Christmas and New Year the cottage is decorated. There are 2 bedrooms with washbasin: 1 double bed (160 x 200) and two single beds (cot). The bathroom has a bath and shower, and there is a washing machine. The lounge has a large decorative fire (firewood provided), a flat screen TV, DVD/Blu-ray, board games and books. The kitchen is fitted with a dishwasher, oven and microwave, among other things. Outside there is a private enclosed garden with parking, garden furniture and a barbecue. No surprises: utilities (electricity, heating, water, rubbish) are included, firewood is provided and Wi-Fi is free. Baby equipment is available free of charge: folding cot, baby bath, potty, changing table, high chair, stair gate, suitable crockery and a microwave. Guests bring their own bath linen, bed linen (bottom sheets, top sheets and pillowcases) and tea towels. Household linen can be hired on request, in which case the beds are made on arrival. In the village there is an indoor swimming pool 5 minutes' walk from the cottage (supervised), a playground 2 minutes away and the forest 10 minutes away. Marked walking and mountain biking trails start here (maps available), and the village has a pharmacy and a hairdresser. A pharmacy is 50 m away, a medical centre 3 km. Our beautiful region is renowned for its woods, landscapes, rivers (Semois and Lesse) and gastronomy. You can go kayaking, swimming, walking, mountain biking and horse riding. Worth a visit are the castles of Bouillon and Sedan, the Archéoscope of Bouillon, Orval Abbey, Redu, the wildlife parks of Bouillon, Rochehaut and Han-sur-Lesse, the Han Caves and the war museum in Bastogne. In summer there are medieval fairs, markets, son et lumière shows, a street arts festival and the Libramont agricultural fair. The central location suits visits to Belgium, France, Luxembourg and Germany.
